The private clinic has direct billing contracts with the Austrian supplementary insurance companies and with most Austrian social insurance companies or health insurance companies. In the case of an existing contract with your insurance carrier, we settle directly with them.

The Privatklinik Ritzensee cooperates with the following private health insurance companies. The costs of your stay can be settled directly with them.

SELF-PAYERS

As a self-payer, you will be invoiced for the treatment costs at the Privatklinik Ritzensee. This includes the current social security contribution in Austria as well as fees and charges as a private patient. If necessary, you can submit this invoice to your insurance provider.

EU citizens who present an EHIC card (European Health Insurance Card) upon admission to the Privatklinik Ritzensee: in this case, we will settle the social insurance portion directly with the Austrian clearing office. Only the private patient fee is charged.

ADMISSION INFORMATION

How do I register for a stay at the Privatklinik Ritzensee?

You first make an appointment with the specialist of your choice for an examination. Information about your stay is provided by your chosen doctor. She/he prepares the appropriate inpatient referral.

Of course, your family doctor can also contact the specialists at the Privatklinik Ritzensee and arrange for you to be referred for inpatient treatment. Once you have chosen the doctor you trust, he or she will arrange and coordinate the date and time when you will be admitted to the Privatklinik Ritzensee, depending on your illness. An appointment for a planned procedure, an operation, an endoscopy, an eye operation, etc., is arranged.

DAY OF ADMISSION TO THE PRIVATKLINIK RITZENSEE

On the day of your admission to the Privatklinik Ritzensee, various bits of information need to be recorded. We therefore ask you to bring the following important documents and papers with you on the day of admission:

Referral slip from your referring doctor
Policy number together with written confirmation that your supplementary insurance will cover the costs
Recent preliminary findings and X-rays
Blood group identity card (if available)
Information documents already handed out regarding the planned intervention

ADMISSION TIMES AT THE PRIVATE CLINIC AND ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Unless otherwise agreed, admission takes place between 08:00 and 10:00.

You will be contacted by telephone by the nursing team two to three days before your arrival to discuss the exact arrival time.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

If your insurance contract provides for an excess, this will be charged by your private insurance company.
If your supplementary health insurance covers 100% of the costs, extra payments for special class can be charged directly.
An additional invoice will be issued for special services at the express request of the patient which are not included in the contractually agreed catalogue of services.
Treatment costs may also be covered with appropriate accident insurance.
We will be happy to advise you on the assumption of costs or provide you with a cost estimate for the planned treatment.
Accompanying persons can stay overnight in the patient’s room on request.
