Vascular Medicine
Early detection of vascular diseases through comprehensive diagnostics (colour-coded duplex ultrasound of all blood vessels) and recommendations on preventive and follow-up care. We also specialise in:
Arterial diseases
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) affecting the pelvic and leg arteries
- Narrowing of the carotid artery (Arteria carotis)
- Aneurysms (dilations)
- Embolisms (the formation of blood clots that are carried into smaller blood vessels)
- Vascular malformations and inflammatory vascular diseases
Vein disorders
- Varicose veins (varicosis) as a weakness of the superficial venous system, presenting in various forms
- Chronic venous insufficiency as a weakness of the deep venous system
- Venous thrombosis, which may lead to post-thrombotic syndrome, a leg ulcer or a pulmonary embolism
- Treatment of critical soft-tissue infections and difficult-to-heal wounds
- Superficial phlebitis (thrombophlebitis)
