Culinary delights are one of the main pillars of the Ritzensee Private Clinic’s health and well-being concept. Our head chef and his team of experienced chefs are aware of their responsibility and manage to conjure up healthy dishes from regional and seasonal products every day. We source our food primarily from the immediate vicinity and are pleased to be able to count local farmers among our suppliers.

Freshly brewed coffee, different types of tea, freshly baked bread, butter, jams and the best cold meats and cheeses are served for breakfast, depending on your preferences and preferred diet.

You can choose from different menus for lunch and dinner. The meals are varied, healthy and tailored to the individual needs of the patients. We are happy to take personal preferences, intolerances and special diets into account.

The private clinic has direct settlement agreements with the Austrian supplementary insurance companies and with most Austrian social insurance institutions and health insurance funds. In the case of an existing contract with your insurance provider, we settle directly with them.

Self-payers and self-payers

As a self-paying patient, you will be invoiced for treatment costs at the private clinic. This includes the current social insurance contribution in Austria, as well as fees and charges applicable to private patients. If necessary, you can submit this invoice to your insurance provider.

If you are covered by valid Austrian social insurance that covers the social insurance contribution currently applicable in Austria, this contribution will be settled directly with the relevant social insurance provider. The patient is responsible for paying the consultation fees and clinical charges.

EU citizens who present an EHIC card upon admission to the private clinic: In this case, we settle the social security contribution directly with the Austrian clearing house. The patient is responsible for paying the fees and clinical charges.

How do I register for a stay at the Ritzensee Private Clinic?

First, you make an appointment with the specialist of your choice for a consultation. Information regarding your stay will be provided by your chosen doctor. She or he will prepare the relevant referral for inpatient treatment.

Of course, your family doctor can also contact the specialists at Privatklinik Ritzensee and arrange for you to be referred for inpatient treatment. Once you have decided on the doctor you trust to treat you, he or she will arrange and coordinate the date and time when you will be admitted to inpatient care at Ritzensee Private Hospital, depending on your illness. An appointment for a planned procedure, an operation, an endoscopy, an eye operation, etc., will be fixed.

Important for private patients with supplementary insurance: before admission to hospital, you must obtain a statement of coverage from your supplementary insurance provider.

Day of admission to the Ritzensee Private Clinic

On the day of your admission to Privatklinik Ritzensee, various information must be recorded. We therefore ask you to bring the following important documents with you on the day of admission to the private clinic:

• Referral slip from your referring doctor
• Policy number together with written confirmation that your supplementary insurance will cover the costs
• Current preliminary findings and x-rays
• Blood group identification card (if available)

Important additional information:

• If your insurance contract provides for an excess, this will be charged by your private insurer.
• If your supplementary health insurance covers 100% of the costs, additional payments for special classes can be offset directly.
• An additional invoice will be issued for special services at the express request of the patient that are not included in the contractually agreed service catalog.
• Treatment costs may also be covered by accident insurance.
• We will be happy to advise you on the assumption of costs or provide you with a cost estimate for the planned treatment.
• Accompanying persons can stay overnight in the patient room on request.

DEXA bone density measurement at the Ritzensee Private Clinic

A device of the latest generation is used at the Ritzensee Private Clinic for DEXA bone density measurement. Since it went into operation at the beginning of October 2021, it has been possible to easily determine whether there is reduced bone density.

The examination is based on a self-pay basis and does not require prior registration. You are welcome to come to the Ritzensee Private Clinic during opening hours. You will receive a reliable diagnosis that your treating specialist can use to initiate targeted therapy.
