Professor Felippe studied medicine in Brazil and is the third generation of doctors in his family. After his physician-officer service in the military navy, he trained in general surgery with a focus on trauma, then trained in urology, followed by further training in plastic surgery in Brazil and in Germany. He has successfully mastered all three medical specialties. In Plastic Surgery in Brazil, he has continued his training in different countries to work in specific areas of plastic surgery, such as the treatment of wounds after severe war injuries, deformities in children and adults of the face and body, correction of consequences of severe burns and the restoration of body parts after tumour treatments and injuries. In Aesthetic Surgery, he has acquired his knowledge in Brazil and in various other countries and consolidated it in Belgium, China, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Iran, Japan, Russia, Scotland, the USA and others. Now there is a new, less invasive surgical alternative to aid weight loss. If you have tried diet after diet without ever achieving the weight loss you want and need – for appearance or health reasons – you may be a candidate for the POSE (Primary Obesity Surgery Endolumenal) procedure. In this procedure, surgeons use new types of instruments to sew folds into the stomach, reducing its capacity. This makes you feel fuller more quickly, i.e. you feel less hungry, eat less and feel satiated. The surgeon performs the procedure entirely through the mouth, as in a gastroscopy, without any external incisions in the body.
As there are no external incisions, the POSE procedure offers important advantages as expected, e.g. lower risk than traditional open or laparoscopic surgery, minimal post-operative pain, fast recovery and no scars. There are patients who have undergone this procedure on a Friday and were back at work on the Monday, without bandages or pain and without anyone noticing anything. No one at all needs to know that you have undergone this procedure.

ADVICE:
GIRLS’ CONSULTATION (FIRST LOVE)
Many girls are afraid of their first gynaecological appointment because they simply don’t know what to expect. I would like to take this fear away from you and therefore offer you an informative talk during your first visit.
I can tell you about the female body, the menstrual cycle, any menstrual problems, contraceptive issues and what is done at the annual gynaecological check-up.
You can come alone or with a caregiver.
The conversation will of course be treated confidentially.
If you wish to take the pill, I will take blood samples which will tell me whether the pill is suitable for you from a medical point of view. A decision about the contraceptive can then be made at a follow-up appointment.
I only perform a gynaecological examination on girls who are no longer virgins.
Otherwise I just do an ultrasound of the abdomen.
CONTRACEPTIVE OPTIONS:
Hormonal contraceptives
Birth control pill:
Combination pills (oestrogen and progestogen), with pill break where bleeding occurs
Mini-pill (progestogen) without a pill break and menstrual bleeding is absent (however, spotting is often described)
When prescribing a combined pill for the first time, I always take a coagulation status by means of a blood test, as the pill can influence blood coagulation and the risk of thrombosis and embolism is increased if there are congenital factors.
Smokers and overweight women are also advised not to take the combined pill.
Adverse side effects could include mood swings, headaches, sexual desire, nausea, spotting and water retention.
Implanon (hormone rods):
Pure progestogen preparation, is placed under the skin on the inside of the upper arm after local anaesthesia. The active substance is continuously delivered. Since some react with spotting, I have the women try a progestogen pill for 3 months to check their tolerance.
If well tolerated, the hormone rod can be left in place for 3 years.
Contraceptive patch:
Weekly change with 1 week break where menstruation comes.
Vaginal ring:
3 weeks, then one week ring-free where the period comes.
3-monthly injection:
Depot injection every 3 months,
side effect: decrease in bone density, not suitable for young girls.
Hormone IUD:
is inserted into the uterine cavity and releases the hormone there continuously for 3 or 5 years (depending on the preparation).
Hormone-free contraceptives
Copper IUD: The effect is that the change in the lining of the uterus prevents the fertilised egg from implanting, and it also impairs the mobility of the sperm.
This type of IUD is suitable for women who do not want artificial hormones, but the disadvantage could be that menstrual bleeding could become heavier.
PREGNANCY CARE
I offer to carry out at least 5 mother-child examinations (as provided for in the Mother-Child Pass).
At every check-up, an ultrasound is performed, blood pressure is measured, urine is checked and, of course, your questions are answered.
Two blood samples and a streptococcus B smear will be taken at the scheduled time.
However, I recommend two specific examinations elsewhere, namely first trimester screening between the 11th and 14th week of pregnancy and organ screening in the 20th week of pregnancy carried out by specialised colleagues.
CHANGE YEARS
I am happy to advise you in this phase of your life, which is not always easy.
The interplay between the female hormones oestrogen and progesterone no longer works and the “hormone carousel” begins.
Whether you counteract this with lifestyle changes, mental and physical exercise, a healthy diet, herbal supplements or hormones, it is important that you experience an active and happy second half of life.

After completing my medical studies in Vienna, I started at the hospital in Zell am See as an intern and graduated as a general practitioner after 3 years.
Luckily for me, a training position in obstetrics and gynaecology became available, so I was able to start my training there and successfully complete it as a specialist in the minimum time.
In 2015, alongside my work as a senior physician at the hospital, I opened a private doctor’s surgery.
I have been happily married since 2018 and am a mother to one son.

I was born in Zell am See and studied at the Medical University of Innsbruck for 11 semesters (winning two performance scholarships each for the 2nd and 3rd sections), where I began my post-doctoral medical training in the University Department of General Surgery under Prof. Raimund Margreiter in Innsbruck in 2003.
As orthopaedics had already emerged as my preferred subject during my studies, I changed to the University Department of Orthopaedics Innsbruck (Prof. Martin Krismer) in 2005.
At the hospital in Innsbruck I was able to follow the development of the minimally invasive hip approach first-hand, before I moved to my home in Salzburg to the Paracelsus Medical University of Salzburg (Prof. U. Dorn) in 2006.
At the LKH Salzburg I had 7 years of experience with senior physician Dr Franz Landauer, an excellent mentor in the field of endoprosthetics, foot surgery and especially paediatric orthopaedics, and was allowed to lead the sports orthopaedic outpatient clinic here from 2011.
Dr Franz Landauer also taught me how immensely important it is to take patients seriously with all their fears and worries and to give them the feeling that they are in good hands.
In October 2012, I accepted the position of senior physician at the Orthopaedic Department of the Kardinal Schwarzenberg Hospital in Schwarzach under Dr Manfred Höflehner, since I, as a Pinzgau native, very much appreciate my homeland with all its beauty.
